Baystate Children’s Specialty Center
The Baystate Children’s Specialty Center, a one-of-a-kind outpatient facility for children at 50 Wason Avenue in Springfield, opened on September 23, 2013. The Center offers specialty care for youngsters from birth through age 21 and beyond all under one roof, with doctors, nurses, child life specialists, therapists and many others working together to serve this population so important to our community.
Baystate Medical Center:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Intermediate Care Unit
Baystate Children’s Hospital opened a newly renovated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Intermediate Care Unit in November 2013 to better serve the pediatric patients and their families in our community. The renovated units have private rooms that allow for better family access and advanced technologies and equipment to care for critically ill pediatric patients ranging from infants to age 21.
Baystate Medical Center:
Observation & Infusion Unit
The Baystate Medical Center Observation & Infusion Unit opened, offering special services for two different patient populations. Patients admitted from the Emergency & Trauma Department who need additional monitoring, diagnostic testing or medication can have a short stay of 24 hours or less in the Observation area. Post-operative patients who need additional medications or observations during recovery stay in the Infusion area, which is the only one of its kind in the region that is open 24/7 and fully staffed with nurses.
Baystate Health Outpatient Center – Northampton
This new outpatient care facility on King Street in Northampton opened on May 28, 2013 and offers family medicine, obstetrics and GYN care, laboratory, radiology and imaging services, and multi-specialty services including a transgender clinic, pediatrics, sports medicine, surgery, and pulmonary and sleep medicine.
Baystate Health Outpatient Center – East Longmeadow
The Baystate Health Outpatient Center – East Longmeadow opened in mid-September, offering adult internal medicine, geriatrics, endocrinology, pulmonary medicine, radiology, physical therapy and more at one location.
Baystate Franklin Medical Center: Wound & Hyperbaric Medicine Center
The Baystate Franklin Medical Center Wound & Hyperbaric Medicine Center opened on September 18, 2013 and offers advanced, accelerated care for chronic and hard-to-heal wounds. The Center offers patients a multi-disciplinary panel of physicians, nurses and technicians who use evidence-based techniques to achieve the highest rates of healing outcomes.
Baystate Mary Lane Hospital: Radiology
The Baystate Mary Lane Hospital Radiology Unit upgrades were completed in July 2013, offering BMLH technologists, who perform more than 15,000 exams a year, new space with state-of-the-art equipment.
